Thread: Google Image Now looks like Bing???

Hi,

Is Google copping BING?

I just did an image search What the???

Why would they change I liked it the way it was?

What is your thoughts on this?

I really don't like the new style. The old style was much better.

But the good thing is that this change is only for google.com

I ran into the make over this morning and really like the mouse over popouts. I haven't looked into it further though.

One nice thing for webmasters who optimize for image search: When you click on an image from regular web search results the website itself is the main focus with a little Google information bar off to the right. That infobar used to be on top and detracted from the site itself.

The popouts are a good idea but I would like to see the images expand to be slightly larger on mouseover. Right now it only enlarges the image ever so slightly.

Somehow I feel this is the first big mistake google made. If I wanted a bing pic search I' use bing.

So who is now using googles old pic search?

Google is really big giant in search engine industry. I don't think they have started coping bing. Its just co-incident

I liked google because it was fast. The google image load time sucks now Did they forget that some of us still only have dial up?

I like the idea to present the results in such a way. Now you can see the pics better without clicking them too many times.

I think the images on BING are stunning, I personally do not think it is coincidence, when everyone has been saying that BING itself both looks and feels better than Google. Then all of a sudden now Google cares and updates how images are displayed in it's search engine.

It is a desperate attempt by Google to retain their user base and not have them switch to BING search instead.

Yes,I have noticed the same thing.Google now using ajax or zoom in and zoom out effect for image search.Though it looks good it is really hard to reach the actual image with this new effect.

Now a days bing is giving good search results rather than google.

I dont care what the design of googlr is, i use this SE not for its design but for quality, so is in one day they deside to use the photos of Marilyn Manson for the design i dont care)))

This not like that as you are thinging about the topic, i am agree that Google changed its image search as Bing. That not the meaning that they copied them they change to provide the result more quickly. In the last image search we need to browse all the pages which has results becuse it was shows the 10 reslts only but now it shows the all resul into the 1 page. I thing this feature is quite good.
