    Default Google Analytics, Tracking Unknown

    Hi,

I just installed a google analytics plugin for my wordpress site. I got a page to put the code in, I got the code from the google analytics and now the status reads: tracking unknown.

This is a fairly new site, i wander if I have zero visit that would cause this. Any advise?

Exclamation Re: Google Analytics, Tracking Unknown

I just signed up for Google Analytics myself, even though my website is not a WordPress site I still believe that this applies.

After placing the Google Analytics code on your site, I am assuming that this is what the plug-in does for you, you still have to wait until Google actually re-crawls your webpages and notices that their Google Analytics Tracking Script is on your webpages.

Just because you place the script on your webpages does not mean that Google is going to crawl your webpages to make sure that their Tracking Script is there.

Sadly, you do have to wait until Google actually decides to re-crawl your webpages and find the tracking script there.

In the case of my own website, this only took a day for me, once I signed into Google Analytics the following day after installing their Tracking Script was when the status went from unknown to successful.

If your website is still relatively new as you mentioned, then Google may not visit, frequent or crawl your website often...this has nothing to do with your webpage or it's content, this is simply a fact that Google crawls new webpages less frequently than older webpages.

As with anything Google does, patience is key.

    Hope This Help;

    :2078: Thanks,

If you are not able to get the traffic report then do one thing again add your website in analytic and then put the code again and make sure that the code is live after that verify for the code and then you can see your website visitors.

You can force google analytics to crawl your page by opening the tracking code page a second time the bot will go and check if the code is there, also you can open your website this will also force the code to update but you must wait about 3 hours.

I think your problem is a newly created common problem the code must now go before the closing /head tag previously it had to go befoe the closing /body tag. Make sure you have not made this mistake.

The site is new and traffic comes by proper SEO of site. Then check results in google analytics.

It might be a temporary error, otherwise, make sure you've install the tracking code by going back to your Analytics page and click to verify.

    Good luck.

Well, maybe you have putted it in wrong section or else it's just temporarily. Better ask the Google support for Analytics so that they can assist you.
