It depends on the niche of the site and number of it's competition. But it usually takes 2 to 3 months to see the results.

You mean how much time it takes to rank on Google right? Well, it depends on how you spend time to work and how quality the links you build for your site.

I agree to all the statement above. it takes a week or two for the new sites to be listed on serps depending on your niche and on your targeted keywords and it depends on how much seo work you have done for your site. and it also depends on the quality of back links that you made for your site.

To actually make Google believe that your site is a relevant search match is a different story, it requires well laid out content, keyword ops, metatag work, etc. It takes many people a great deal of time in the end, but if your site is worth being untilized then you should put the time into optimizing its ranking, etc.

True, just build good backlinks in high PR websites and you'll be indexed in 24 hours

It needs backlinks before it get listed in Google. There is no specific time when it will get listed.
