whats different b/w Google place vs local listing .?

Google Place and Google Local Listing is same there is no difference between them.

In Local Listing you may consider other local directories and regional websites like Yellow pages on which you can list your business.

yes you are right but if u have good sit on ur link web page so u will be see ur site on good position do 3 way and 2 way link building:happy-f:

Google places is the new name for google local listings. They are not different, just updated the names.

I suppose one differences is that local listings are generated by google, where as a google places account has been verified by the site owner. Google places also offers some nice metrics on customer interactions.
