Do you have any idea as to what exactly is the Google sandbox?

Google Sandbox, a filter that is placed on new sites by Google, prevents the new sites from getting ranked for major keyword phrases. Its function is to discourage spam sites in going up to higher positions through the quick creation of numerous backlinks with the use of unethical paid links and other spam methods that could make the site popular and most visited. Google Sandbox also prevents repeated spam after banning for violating Google terms. Most of the people are scared of the Google Sandbox since it will prevent their business to grow. Do you think Google Sandbox is helpful?

Nobody can asnwer this question properly and for sure as nobody except Google knows exactly about sandbox.

I too don't know more then you. But I am happy that my site is not in sand box as I heard that the websites in sanbox are removed from indexing.

As what hakanmark26 mentioned it is a way for google to prevent spam. Newly created websites and domains which only existed for less than 12 months do not improve in page rank no matter how many back links or keyword phrase they have created for their website. Now, nobody could independently verify if google sandbox does exist. But to answer akanmark26 question if it is helpful to prevent spam my answer is no because a spammer would alway find ways to spam other websites no matter what preventive parameters does google create to fight spam.

sandbox is not official from google. There is no regular link for it. Even you can't see whether your site is in the sandbox or not.
