Thread: Twitter got me on Page 1 of Google

Twitter got me on ft page of Google Hope this helps you as well.

I went to Google because of an article I was doing on Tron Legacy. It stars Olivia Wilde so I checked out Olivia Wilde on Google at the top of page one Google for some reason is showing Twitter posts.

So I then went and made a post to Twitter on the bio I have on Olivia Wilde.

Guess what? A few seconds later it showed on page one of Google. I went from 9 viewing to 27 viewing in seconds. All because of that tweet.

If your timing is right this could be a good plus to your site. Hunt for realtime results for your keywords. I don't know how long the tweets show or how Google picks what tweets they show. or what topics.

My post stayed up for 39 mins before other tweets replaced it.

wow, thats actually pretty cool.
It's pretty rare that I see Google showing Tweets like that in it's SERP though, and it probably either picks by random, or a combination of amount of re-tweets and your twitter reach.
I wouldn't count on this happening again haha.

Let me know if you figure out how/when/why Google does this though!

It has happened for me now 5 or 6 times.

Google seem to like current topics and tweets about celebrities.

But I can not say what make them show and what don't.

All about timing.

Here is another example on page one of google for Paris Hilton at time of post it is showing just her tweets. So if you can get a celebrity to talk about you or retweet your tweet your in.



However the other day it was showing all tweets made by everyone on Paris Hilton.

So NO Idea why google shows what it shows.

I just did another quick search. On Charlie Sheen the real time results are showing up under news but you need to click the link to see them.

They are not being posted on the first page yet.

Twitter is a one of the best way to make ranking and traffic to website. Tweet and Face for now.

So, was it because your tweet was viewed or re-tweeted by others more than other tweets or was it because google took a random tweet to display as the first one.

Hi,

I don't know how it works yet. Something sets off the topic that google picks.

Some topics are only showed on page one for a short time. If I were to guess it works with current hot topics that are on the move but not for sure.
