Advice on a logo

I'm working on updating a logo I've got for my charity/nonprofit I'm creating...and i was looking for some advice...

I'm not sure if I want to go with a really bright logo/site...or if I should go with something a little more subdued?...what do you think a Charity about providing support to people should be? I'm leaning more towards bright...but I also think the subdued version looks a little more professional...

(note...these aren't the final versions...just something I has someone send me to get my mind rolling)

I love the second one. I think "hope" should be bright and alive, so those are both fine to me.

I have always been partial to having the logo on either end of the words so I have to go with the second one but both are very nice.

I think they are both really good, very professional.. If i had to pick one it would be the top one.

Hard choice, both are very good. I kinda like the first one better.

what do you guys like about the first one? Is it the color or the positions of the words below the logo rather than next to it...

I like the colors of the top one, but the format of the second one...

I'ma mess around some in photoshop with these and see what else I can come up with, i'll post some more in a bit

The first one could be improved by using the second one's font.

The top one definately catches my attention better. They are both very good. I love the colors they go together very good... Should show us an example of the 2nd one with the same colors as the first.

Ug...lol...apparently the guy that did those for me (i couldn't get an idea in my head so I had someone make those two so I could improve on them...lol) didn't send me the PSD...might be a little bit longer than I planned to do a new version

I am thinking along these lines for the first one:

I'd recommend using Illustrator, or other vector program to create the logos. You'll save the organization some headaches when it comes down to printing and specialty items.

I like your ideas so far, but think they could be expanded upon. The 2 icons, people and the dove clash in style, and think they should be meshed better. Maybe, get more creative with the 'hope' concept than just a literal one by way of the dove.

Also, the colors say more 'techie' than hope, uplifting, and cheerful. The blue is great because it represents calmness and peace, but can be cold and depressing as well. I'd like to see the lighter orange with a different tone of blue.

The font face can be cleaned up a bit too. You want to make sure that it's easy to read.

So far, great start, but I think it needs work.

I've never used illustrator...i've been a photoshop guy...I suppose I could try and mess around with it in illustrator...

Yah, i'm working on the colors as well...the ones i posted weren't done by me...I just had someone do a few concepts up for me to play with and make the way i liked them...colors and fonts are up on the plate at the moment

not sure exactly what you mean by that truthfully...I'm actually very fond of the people and dove

(though i'm using a different dove in my final version).

Stax added 330 Minutes and 27 Seconds later...

I've decided I like the image next to the words the best, so I'm going to stick with that...

here is an updated version...still don't think I'm done with it yet...

I like the very first one better. I like the brightness of 'Hope' and the central positioning of it. I do not really like the updated version. Maybe it is the stroke you have on the text I do not like. But I am looking forward to more updates.

you're right...it does look better with no stroke on it...

here are few versions side by side...off to work now, will do more later

thanks a bunch...

sometimes i try to overdue myself...lol, i just love adding more and more and more...and in the end i've added way to much...this is probably only my third logo that i really really like
