I have CS2, to upgrade to CS3 do you have to pay the full price again or an upgrade fee?

I have this Adobe - Creative Suite 3 Design Premium

buying full is $1799, but there is an upgrade option for $599 (thats what i did). Haven't bought the single programs before, but I'm sure they are the same.

Is there much difference between CS2 and CS3? I don't have a penny to my name to do this anytime soon.

Adobe - Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended: Upgrade details

this has a basic overview of the differences between 2 and 3

if you don't use those then you could probably do without until you have the extra money

I bought it when it came out because I had extra money at the time...I shouldn't have though truthfully...cs2 was just fine for me.

If you're going to use commercial software, then pay for it. You wouldn't expect your customers to get your work for free, so why do people believe they can pirate software?

If you don't want to pay for software, try Open Source software. There's GIMP
BeanTown Host- Web Hosting, Dedicated Servers, Boston Colocation and Domain Names
    CPanel,RVSkins,Fantastico,RVSiteBuilder on all accounts.
SysAdmin Valley - a sysadmin's ramblings, tips and tricks
Cisco Sphere - Forum for Cisco users

Totally agree... the Gimp is second only to Photoshop and is very capable of handling everything PS can... 'cept for CMYK stuff... which most people have no need for anyway. And maybe text layers. I never had much luck getting good results with those using Gimp.

If you design anything, like logos, that will also be used for print, like on business cards, then you will need CMYK colors.

They also have PS3 Portable. I have it at least. It's small enough for a Flash Drive
