Thread: HELP ME!!

Photoshop wont save anything!!!

If i try to save something in .psd format. it says its in .0 and it wont open it.

Also when i try to save as a "web device" or .gif (animated image) it saves it as .0 and i can only look at it, so cant upload it to photobucket.

How do i fix this?

I have no idea what "in .0" means, I've never seen this happen, can you give more information?

I'm assuming he means it's saving as filename.0


Try saving a file,

Then renaming it (physically through windowsexplorer) filename.psd

I go to file, save as, Then i save it to the desktop in a .psd format.
When i go to open that .psd file it says that it is not the right file type.

When i check the proporties of the file, it says that its in .0 file.
This has never happened to me before.

This problem come after the problem where shapes automatically merge with the layer below it. :scry:

Yeah, but it was working fine until earlier this week

Ive had photoshop on this computer for a little over a month

Changing filetype manually doesn't work?

Browse your photoshop preferences, look for something out of the ordinary.

well when you say changing it manually, how do you change it?

I know that just renaming it wont work and in the picture the thing that says file type i sent editable

Why is it saving two copies?

It looks like you have an Image, and a .0 copy.


Seems simliar to the mac system, that creates .thmb's of EVERYTHING.







Have you recently decided to show hidden files?

What are the other two files? Did you just save them, or did you do them beforehand?

they are all different. this guy needed 4 different banners/ ads.

And i always show hidden files

Nevermind, I thought they were two same files, one was shown, one was hidden.


I tried googling this .0 filetype. Never heard of it.

yeah me niether,

what do you mean by other media programs?
like coreal paint shop? no

but i did install real player a few weeks ago. but i dont see how it could effect photoshop.

Sounds like your Photoshop was a trial and it expired, you did say it's been just over a month you had it.

I got a serial from adobe.


Im just gonna have to uninstall then reinstall it again

Serial means nothing if you didn't pay for it, so did you pay for it? Otherwise I am sure it's what I said. :swink:
