No, For logos it's adobe-illustrator or corel draw, If you make a logo by photoshop; it won't be vector based.

CS5 can definitely do vectors now. Illustrator is a good piece of software for logos but most people don't know how to use it and you have to know how to use Photoshop before Illustrator.

For Illustrator, I like how the vectors can be imported into Photoshop so easily with all the layers so you can add them to templates.
With all of the coding language hype, there is no replacement for graphics.

I use photoshop for my graphics. Photoshop is not just for logos but for banners as well. Its an all-around tool for my needs though sometimes I buy graphic packages if I don't want to put much effort on what I need to do. I just tweak things a bit before using them.
