Like any name brand, once it becomes so popular that the user base makes it an industry standard, the price goes up. You also have to keep in mind that Adobe also raises their prices to help compensate for all the people stealing their software's via hacks / cracks being illegally downloaded & used daily.
So, If you want to blame someone for the higher prices, blame the hackers & illegal software users that make it harder for a developer / coder / designer / company to feed their families, Thus causing a boost in price to compensate for the loss.
Corel CorelDraws prices are slowly rising as well for the same reasons adobe's are.
Brand Popularity + High Theft rates = Higher prices ...
