Thread: How to pull a color from a website

Hey all, is there anyway to pull a background color off of a website so I know what color to match for a graphic so that i will blend into his background?

Try view source and then see the color codes for the site.

yes you could check the css the site is using...

or use a color schemer or color picker to pick out any color you need from anywhere...

or print screen and paste on photoshop to grab the color using a dropper ...

I'm just thinking out loud

hmm, well I just do a print screen and paste it in photoshop and use my color picker.

I use a free tool called Picacol. Billed as "The Smallest Color Picker EVER."

It sits quietly in your tray, and when active will give you the hex value of anything your cursor points to.

I just love it, and use it all the time.

Well, I am obviously the only one without this knowledge LOL. Thanks all for the great tools. I added the firefox addon and that works great. God, FF must have a ton of addons I haven't found yet.

Ain't it the truth! I didn't know about Colorzilla either. It may become my new fav.

I guess I really should check out FF addons every now and then.

I also use Colorzilla. It is definitely a must have.

Tim and I are in a box, he's supposed to do as I say but he's been very naughty lately! Didn't you note his location? He's relocated to my box, all boxes are basically the same but now it's PINK to punish him more. :twisted:
