Thread: Website Redesign And Redirect

Hi everyone. I need the help of experienced webmasters and SEO experts. I have a website that has been running for 5 years. I get ample traffic and the site used to convert well enough but lately about 4 months ago although the traffic has increased yet the conversions were beginning to decline. I visited other websites in the same niche and discovered that some of them have stunning designs. Better than mine.

I have decided to redesign my site and at the same time do a split test. This is what I plan.

1. create a sub folder on the same domain and upload the new design.

2. redirect to the sub folder from the index page as well as other important pages

My question is that is this going to hurt my SEO since I don't do PPC or any paid advertising. I rely only on organic searches.

I will appreciate any constructive advice.

It should not hurt your SEO at all if you did not do any PPC. PPC will help get you traffic which can help you in terms of SEO but it is not 100% necessary.
