Thread: Definition of Duplicate Content?

When i submit an article to different Article directories. Does it mean that this is content Duplication or if i submit website's content from its body to different article directories then it means that i am making duplication of content?

No, it doesn't mean that the content is duplicated, but it is better to submit different articles to various directories as it will be a plus to your site ranking.

Actually i just wanna clear my concept about content duplication. so if one article is being submitted in different article directories. would this be content duplication.
On the other hand when we do free directory submission at that time we are submitting the data picking from the site meta description.
Plz elaborate if you can

Duplicate content means the content are copy of web-site or blog , articles .you can not submit the duplicate content then spam is active and your work is lost , so your keyword ranking is down.

I'm afraid so. If you submit an article in different sites Google panda update will consider those to be copy-past contents. And the sites that has been submitted will suffer.

So 'any content which does not pass Google panda update is a duplicate content.' lol

You can see if your article is duplicate content by selecting a couple of sentences and pasting them into google. If the search results return any articles, then your article is already on the web.

Some article directories will not accept duplicate content. They will reject your article if they find another copy somewhere on the web. Other article directories will accept duplicate content. So you want to submit to the stricter directories first, then after they are accepted you can submit to the rest.

It means that you copy the content from somewhere else and it is not unique one.

i think both can be counted in duplicate content as none of these would gonna help

Duplicate content means you are copying content from someone site. which content already crawled by search engine. It's called a duplicate content. If you write content with good English knowledge and submit your content on some 4 to 5 article submission directories. That is good way for promoting site ...

i will give the easiest definition to duplicate content: "copy/paste".
i try to avoid it as much as possible in my articles on different blogs!

I think if you copy any content ( i.e. article, blog, video ) from another site then it is consider as a duplicate content. It is consider as a spam. Because of spam your site may become banned you will not get the good page rank in the search engine.
