    Default PayPal Return URL question...

I've had this problem for years.

I use my PayPal account for all my websites, when I set the Return URL for a buy now button I am making, but then make another button, so have to change the url... the people get taken to the latest url I put in, no matter which button they used...

What are the exact steps I have to take in order for this to work properly?

I usually encrypt my buttons but I am guessing in order to have several Return URLs (for several different buttons), that I need to make it so I can edit the Return URL manually in the code provided to me?

So, if each button has the Return URL coded in manually, do I just need "Return URL" enabled on PayPal's end and a default url in place? My code's "Return URL" will override the one specified on PayPal's end?

As far as I knew you could only have one return URL...not sure if they changed that (hope so). Might be best off to ask paypal about it.

I'll have to look into it, but I thought there was a way to pass what you wanted the return URL to be. I have a number of hosting companies that use PayPal as their payment processor, and the billing system WHMCS works with one PayPal account my company has. So there must be a way. Let me look into it.

Going by their help pages, I just have to edit it (return_url) manually in the code they provide me, so I just won't have it encrypted, I can edit it at will then.

You could also encrypt the final page with a third party encryption program.

Unencrypted Return URL is bad and the buying process can be easily scipped.
But when you use encrypted version, you can not edit the return URL, so I guess you will need to create a new button for every different return URL you want to use, but the better solution is to contact PayPal.

Well I have no worries about the buying process being skipped, it's for advertising here, which I control manually, no payment = no campaign set up. :stongue:

I would just do what Zap said, encrypt the code on my own after changing the return url.
