Default China to Lead the Way in the Internet

Really? What do you guys think of this?

    --------------------------------------

China is set to overtake the USA and dominate in Internet leadership, with there next generation Internet. This is part of China's new five year plan to move away from manufacturing to develop its own scientific and technology breakthroughs. The CGNI Chinese Academy of Engineering are the group spearheading the whole project, China will use it to create their own way into being competitive in the Global Market.

This technology is based on the communication standard called Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). IPv is the internets version of a postal envelope, containing such information as destination and return address and details about the package's content. IPv4 lacks the power to allow all would be users in the World to connect to it, Ipv6 solves this problem. China is gambling on moving to the next generation ahead of the rest of the World , allowing China's researchers, academics and entrepreneurs to be the first to develop systems to take full advantage of the new technology and allow them to commercialise the services and becoming the next wave of eBay and Goggles. China has spent hundred's of millions of Dollars so far and today the CNGI connects 100 universities, 100 research institutes and 100 companies in 20 Cities.

With the US being reluctant to pursue IPv6 it looks as if China will steal the lead in Internet Leadership, with a bigger shift of high tech, R&D and product innovation eastward. However, it is not clear whether they will be able to take advantage of it, although China's researchers are already working on it. At the IPv6 summit in April, China's main telecommunications and Internet companies proceeded to follow one another onto the stage and told the audience that they were well placed to develop these services. China intends to show the World just how advanced their Internet system has become at the 2008 Olympics. CGNI will control just about everything at the Olympics Live action over the internet, even down to the taxis in Beijing's snarled traffic.

That is only the beginning the innovation provided by the IPv6 is staggering, every device from mobile phone to street lights and household thermostats can be linked to the internet and connected all the time. They will be able to track and authenticate all emails thus eliminating spam, hacking and philshing schemes. "In the next 10 years everyone will [begin] moving to IPv6," says Robert Atkinson, president of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, a technology policy think tank.

If the United States wishes to stay ahead in the Internet race they need to take action now, they are acutely aware of the threat and Chairman Davis has asked the President to select an IPv6 transition appointee. Davis is an outspoken congressman on technology issues, we need to begin planning now says Davis.
