    Question Premium Broadband.. Worth it?

Does anyone think premium broadband is worth it? You know how cable companies sell different tiers. There's an introductory tier which is normally something like 768/128 then a regular tier 5/384 and then upper teirs I forget the numbers.

I'm perfectly happy with my download speeds, I'm pretty sure we're only Road Runner customers on my node so I have no one else hogging up the bandwidth. Upload speeds however aren't the best. I average around 150 - 160, the cap is 384. I never even get close to that.

Is an extra $10-15 bucks a month worth it for 8/768? Anyone else use the premium packages?

    Thanks,
    Danny

Bell South DSL has been down for 24 hours, so I signed up for AOL and am on dial up until they get the network back up!

So the faster the better, slow connections SUCK!

Going backward in an era of video.....well you may as well get offline, so anything that gives you faster speeds is much better!

I'd kill for that! I'm supposed to get 1-3 mbps up, I only get about 70k if I'm lucky!!!!

I kept DSL and Cable for a long time. When cable went 8/768, I canceled the DSL backup. I hate dsl tiers. What a rip off!

For what I do, it's a necessity to have the fastest. Besides, it's deductable.

What are you doing that makes you need the bandwidth?

I used to have DSL at home which was supposed 8Mb down and 384kb up.

Downloading from Usenet I only received 500KB down and 40KBps up.

When I moved I found Verizon FIOS [http://www.verizonfios.com/]

Up to 15 Mbps/2 Mbps for only $49.99

Love the speeds and love the no real problems. We are even thinking about moving up to the next level for Up to 30 Mbps/5 Mbps $179.95.
