Thread: How some scammers scam for a vB license.

Today, I was selling a vB license at DP, A person came to me and asked me the License #, URL, Name and ID

I gave him all the details, he also took a screen shot from me, After I gave him everything,

He went to another person saying that he is selling license and gave all my details and scammed that another person..

Smart eh ?

Wow. That really does suck. Thanks for the lesson. I was going to sell my vB license on DP soon too. Glad I know what not to do now.

The person really only needs the license number to verify it with vbulletin. Crappy this happens though. Only give the minimum info you have to so that the potential buyer can verify the license is able to be sold.

Or ask that a moderator verify it for you. That way you only give your details to the mods.

That is actually an excellent idea. I am sure the mods over here will have no problem doing so, but will the mods over at DP be so nice?

Looks like our favourite window licker is into ripping off vB licences too.

Although it must be a case of mistaken identity because he doesn't even appear in the thread they link to.

DP is unfortunately riddled with scammers, I tend not to use it much. Id rather trust a smaller site with members offering similar deals than DP. DP seems to be the no1 hideout for scams

The VB scam seems all too easy to do-and too easy to get taken by. But I'm surprised about the level of problems with DP-I haven't been there often and never really done much there so I've never been taken. I guess I should count myself lucky.

What of the VB scam-is there any way that the person who was scammed could drag you into it, cause trouble for you?

i had a license i could of sold but now its too late! it was for 12 months. grrr

My guess is that guy is still a member in good standing with DP, meanwhile those that made that shithole what it once ways are pissed on by the assclowns...
