Thread: Counter status difference (Statcounter - Awstats)

Iam using Statcounter for my sites.
When I checked the Cpanel counter 'awstats' I noticed huge difference in the status. Awstats shows more hits than Statcounter.

Anyone using statcounter and have you noticed it? Why so? :3086:

Don't look at awstats. Just use Statcounter or Google Analytics. They are more perfect than Awstats.

I am using Statcounter and it is working perfect. It counts only human visitors not the search engine robots or any other thing just like google analytics.

Jani, I'd think Awstats would be pretty accurate considering it's right on the server with your website.

The hits in awstats is not just page hits .... it count each part of page and add it to hits.
Like img, JS, and html itself.... I a not sure though.

Nothing can be more accurate than G analytics ..... it's specially designed for google adwords cust ..... so best IMHO.

If I am going to 'Ping' a site, that will be a hit or not.
In statcounter thats not a hit.

BTW, google bot will be counted as a hit in statcounter. I have noticed that.
