Firefox 7 now available

Mozilla has released Firefox 7 for Windows, Mac and Linux platforms. It is now available for download.

The full new feature list is as follows:
• Drastically improved memory handling for certain use cases
• Added a new rendering backend to speed up Canvas operations on Windows systems
• Bookmark and password changes now sync almost instantly when using Firefox Sync
• The ‘http://’ URL prefix is now hidden by default
• Added support for text-overflow: ellipsis
• Added support for the Web Timing specification
• Enhanced support for MathML
• The WebSocket protocol has been updated from version 7 to version 8
• Added an opt-in system for users to send performance data back to Mozilla to improve future versions of Firefox
• Fixed several stability issues
• Fixed several security issues

Oh..Another version of Firefox? I really don't prefer and use Firefox when browsing. I've heard great stuff about it, but I get annoyed by the add-ons and because of this, it takes an awfully long time to load. Regardless, I'm downloading the version 7. I hope it meets up my expectations!

Mozilla has been putting out new releases every 6-8 weeks lately. I don't know if they can keep that pace up forever. I am using Firefox 6 yet. I usually like to wait until the newer version has been out for a little while. From what I see and read about, it seems very similar to Firefox 6. I do know there were some critical security issues the latest version 7 is supposed to fix 11 or 12 of them if I remember right.
