Thread: WTF is up with Internet Explorer today???

Odd as heck this morning.
In IE7, most sites do not come up, I get an error message that IE can not find the site.
I have to in most cases refresh to bring the site up.

But when I go to firefox, all sites come up right away.

Is there some odd thing in IE7 I have to change, fix, add or what?

Or maybe ms just wants to mess with me today?

Have checked your zone settings?

Mine came right up..for whatever that is worth

wow. getting biblical here!

Now IE7 has settled down and I can now get sites without having to refresh.

DONT INSTALL IE!!!

There is a problem with it. We have spend all day installing it off of laptops and systems and the used get page can not be displayed.


Never install Windoze updates right away. Something is always broken.


PS. Why are you using IE anyway? Do you want to be infected?

IE7 works just fine. It was in beta for months.

There are people, myself included, who don't like to install software on our systems that is not needed. I like to keep my system as clean as possible so I try not to

• Install software I don't need
• Repeatedly install and uninstall software
• Connect devices (and install drivers) I will never use

Just about all software has bugs, FF included. Windows already has a browser and even if you uninstall IE, you still have pieces of it left around afterwards because it is so tightly integrated with Windows. So, if you're running Windows, you're never truly free of it anyway.

I don't like any browser.

kill them all and let Grim sort them out.

FF - memory freaking hog like no other...I mean WT_??? On my laptop it pulls 300MB to like 700MB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

IE - yeah

Opera - only works with 83% of sites

Hmmm...I see my running processes that both ie and ff seem to run about the same, 54,000kb.
WHere do you get 300mb?

I have no flippin clue.

It's not like I have 14 extensions either, just 3 I think. Google TB, Adbloc, and a blogging thingy.

That is why people like my son get the big bucks for taking care of networks, servers, and stuff like that.
Rule of thumb for servers:
They only go south when the people who take care of them are home in bed.
As my son says, nothing happens when he is at work. It is only when he is home that something goes bad and he has to go in and fix.

Very true and why we are in business

We remain honest with all our repairs and don't try to make all out money off one customer but its amazing how many people are like "I dont care how much it costs. Just fix it"

I know just enough to get myself in and out of trouble...but my friend is pretty much clueless..he bought a LT and it got hammered by trojans, worms, etc. He was calling me like every day for a week.

Haven't heard from him in a while...I bet he bought a MAC :P:P:P

Or he finally found someone who knows what they are doing.

I already bitched enough about IE period... I won't say I told you so, nor will I start bashing you for your choice to use it, no matter how idiotic of a team they have running that whole shebang.

maybe it was a cache problem.
not sure why but I started out a Netscape playa', stuck with it until version 4 I think

I don't even remember 4, that's how long ago that was. I remember when 7 came out, and I still hated it.

we're still in Lubbock, where the relative humidity is -7%

they have a smallish living room humidifier that has been running non-stop since we got here like 5 days ago and you still get shizzocked when your ass drags off the couch!!! mg: :evil:
