How come both my gmail and my yahoo have loads of spam mails?. I mean sometimes I miss an important mail because even in my inbox their are loads of spam mails too except for my newest mail id which I have few inbox but loads of spam mails too ???

Is your email addy posted in the public anywhere?

My gmail is expericing better spam filtering. My yahoo mail is death - loads of spam mail coming everyday.

When an e-mail address ends up one mailing list, it eventually gets sold to other lists.

Probley posted some place public, Or just some spam engines bfed it

I really hate spam mails! I have to delete them everyday. If I do not delete for 7 days then when I open my mail box it is very difficult to find out the real mails!

The spammers don't half make you laugh sometimes. The worst ones are the emails that are exactly the same but come from a new sender. I mean, who in their right mind is going to click on a link in those emails or buy anything? Not many i suspect. If they are going to such lengths to generate revenue they may as well use legitimate means.

Even if your email is only published on a download page they will probably find it.

I don't know which Gmail you guys are using...but the one I'm using is very good. Spam mails seldom find their ways into my inbox. I think Gmail is the best free mail provider out there today in term of spam filtering.

I used Hotmail for sometime and it was absolute crap. Even after flagging a mail as spam, it still ends up in your inbox next time.

For me, I have one email for online sign-ups, that way I don't bother with spams and Nigerian Millions waiting to be claimed.

I agree with hhunt. My gmail is free of any spam. As for Yahoo, there's some spam there all the time.

Create folders by simply going to mail options to filter your messages.

I'm having same experience with my Yahoo mail too. Too many stupid people emailing me spam message. I'm happy it isn't my personal email address. So better be sure you're not using your personal email in joining other sites.

When compared to yahoo and gmail, yhoo get loads of spam mails and most of spammers do use yahoo.

Actually i am facing the same problem too,lots of spam mail i am getting in my yahoo??

Google and yahoo search engine crawling on server to server. If a mail generating with a bulk server then it will go in to your spam folder.

if you will use your email to subscribe in other websites, some of them will spam your mail box.

I have noticed that I get more spam on certain accounts than on others. Maybe you should get another mail provider? And it helps not to publish the address too often.

I have also had this problem with my yahoo account. After changing to gmx.net this stopped, so I guess it is a problem of the provider.

You should have to read all mails daily and there are no important mails then you can delete it.

My gmail account is pretty clean, but one of my yahoo accounts is usually full of spam mails. Well I slightly exaggerated, there are only about 20-30 per day, but they are still very annoying, I have to clean my inbox daily...
I mean, is there anybody who takes this kind of advertising in serious, read the mail or click on the link? I personally never do...

yeah, watch out who you give your email address to. They will sometimes sell your address to companies who do email marketing.

I've used my email account in many public places for years and only get ~3-5 spam emails a day... I'm just lucky I guess. xD

same is the problem with me...i am getting hundreds of spam mails every day ...dont know how to get rid of them...i dont even have subscribed to any useless blogs or sites.

well you get spam emails regardless of if you have accounts on blogs or social sites. It just happens.

I think Gmail is really great about spam filters... But it's not perfect. So, if you posted your email on public websites, you should use another one just for this kind of activity (so, you're sure that you will not receive so many spams in your personal account).

One email account for public activity and one for you personal activity.

My gmail doesn't get spam, AOL on the other hand, hundreds per day

I am also fed up of junk mails and looking for good technique to remove this emails.

see lot of people who collect emails and then make a list and share with other and then sending spamming mails, that spamming mails are only adverstisement or they want click only. We share our email id with many people and then via -via it reach to one spammer then to all spammer.
