Thread: Firefox or Internet Explorer?

Hi to everyone! I can't choose between these two browsers: IE is much more familiar to me, but Firefox looks more progressive. What can you advice me?

Firefox is faster.

As a designer, I was always taught by my host and the members on their forum to optimize your web site for both browsers so I use both. I think IE is better because of the faster rendering but having both really is important. Most people use IE or Firefox so you can't alienate a group.

Well for me most of the time I used Firefox because of it's add ons.

Go Opera, you'll never go back.

I use Opera as my main browser, then FF as my "I need to do some work" browser (I code websites for a living).

IE is not a good browser, Firefox is the best but Google chrome is also right behind them...

Of course Firefox is more progressive with all its applications to use and to install.Choose Firefox.

It's good no doubt.. IE is no comparison in my opinion...

FireFox is the most downloaded browser and I understand this. They are the best because they have beaten MS in the "browser industry".

Any browser is better than IE.

Opera and Chrome ar good but for me Firefox is the best . Not because it is faster because sometimes Chrome is faster than Firefox and Opera has its features but Firefox has addons that any other browser doesn't have and won't have to soon..

i am more confident of firefox than IE.. it has more fast speed.

I would also opt for Firefox, it is faster than the Explorer and doesn't annoy webmasters all over the world :devlish:

I almost never work with Explorer, the older versions were awful. I normally use Opera or Firefox.

i prefer firefox...no offense @ microsoft but IE sucks....

I changed to Firefox a little while ago and really like it.

Chrome has very very less features.

IE is decent. I use it as my primary browser, but I do keep FireFox on tabs. IMHO, Facebook looks really crappy in FireFox (albums, etc). But overall, I prefer Google Crome. It and FireFox are built on the same engine.

Firefox is better. With Firefox, almost all medias are displayed. It is also faster, and very interesting with many useful add-ons.

At first, using Firefox may be quite strange when comparing to IE. But then you will love it !!

Neither. Google Chrome is my preferred browser.

I used to use Internet Explorer but switched to Firefox because I found it's generally faster and I like the variety of add-ons it has. I'd say use each browser for a week and see which one you prefer.

I prefer Firefox better than IE, i used to be a fan of Internet Explorer, but when i try Firefox for the first time, i know that i've found a better browser. That's why i switch to Firefox till todays.

Firefox has too many moving parts. IE is simple, streamlined and I know where everything goes. But then again, I dont have any qualms with Microsoft's success so I don't need indie knock-offs.

Firefox is the best because it is a safe, faster and even fully customizable Web Browser. Browsing history until date as well as bookmarks is saved as archives in the Library.

Considering the way ie has been responding, I think ms will stop ie some day. It has lacked behind in terms of speed, features and extensions, all of which are the basic. I prefer chrome for fast browsing and ff if i want some extensions.
Its difficult to find extensions in chrome, but in the absence of extensions it responds much faster. I really like the task manager feature in chrome.

Firefox is the browser I use most, can't beat the webmaster add on tools. I have been using it for quite a while. As a web developer I also use IE, Opera, Chrome, and Safari.

I will tell you this however, there are certain sites using secure forms that require IE, so it is a must to keep it and to keep it updated. There have been a couple, not many sites that I have went to either get usage information, or account information that either were mysteriously missing fields or selections that were required when using Firefox or one of the other browsers and worked fine when using IE. Other than that rare but sometimes important fluke Firefox or one of the others is the superior choice, I like FF, Chrome, and Opera best to be honest.

I use both internet browsers. However, I have a greater feel on mozilla firefox. IE sometimes loads very slow compared to FireFox.

You ask this for development purpose or just browsing if you are going to use it for development purpose then firefox is best and most of the site looks good in firefox Ie is some how IE6 IE7 are worst piece i have ever seen but this is overcome in IE* and IE9
