Angry I Hate Downloading and Installing Toolbars onto my Browser!

I really hate having to download and install toolbars onto my browser, never have and never will.

Everytime I got a new computer or downloaded a new browser or software application, I always made sure to unclick the "install toolbar" option.

Even some programs make you install their toolbar just to install their software program, I go ahead with it, then after the software program is installed I then go ahead and uninstall the toolbar right after.

Now here I am finding myself in a situation where I have to do something that I hate to do.

I just downloaded and installed both Google Toolbar and Alexa Toolbar onto my browser.

Now let's see if they are really worth having!

LOL, I hate having to conform to the norms of society, but if I want my sites to get the best advantage they can online, I do see myself having to conform to certain webmaster norms lol

But seriously, toolbars really make me sick lol

Only installed Google Toolbar to help log and collect more data for better results of my Site Performance/Page Speed rankings in Google Webmaster Tools.

and, I only installed the Alexa Toolbar to use their Alexa Search to hopefully show up for more search terms or keywords on Alexa, that I personally search for to find my sites SERP's online normally using google, Alexa Search is powered by Google anyways so I said hey why not, if I am going to break the mold already, might as well go for broke right?

Also hopefully Alexa begins to start logging all of my backlinks to my site that I have correctly, currently they are only saying that I have 4 total backlinks

    Hi,

Alexa has many, many way to be cheated. Put No faith in it. There are scripts that you can install on your site to increase your rank.

Maybe I should not have told you that. Now you are going to use that new google tool bar to search for Alexa Rank Booster.

Hmmmm, now that sounds very intriguing lol.

But probably I would not be interested in such a script, I do not mind waiting and seeing the benefits of my own work that I put into my sites.

Every little statitic that I have been seeing so far, makes me wonder hmm, what did I do to get that .0005 jump or boost lmao.

I am so corny, lol, but I love it!

Currently I am very excited because I never ever really put any thought into my PAGE SPEED, and even so without me worrying about it, google is telling that my site is currently faster than 80% of sites worldwide. Gotta love numbers, huh?

Well I was one of those people that did not care and did not want anything to do with toolbars, yet I had to bite the gun and swallow the fact that now as a webmaster certain toolbars can help you both keep track of and augment certain statistics of your website.

Toolbars do nothing but waste space, IMHO. The only thing I ever used to the Google Toolbar for when I had it installed was to see Page Rank.. It turns out PR doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of Google's index so that got uninstalled quickly.

You do have to be careful with software installs though lots of apps want to 'help' you by installing a toolbar. It's ridiculous. Skype particularly annoys be because it installs it's own toolbar in IE and Firefox without even asking. At least they make a separate uninstall entry in Add/Remove Programs though. It's called "Skype Extras".

These companies aren't fooling anyone. They want to install toolbars to make them money. Whether they get a flat fee for every installed toolbar or get a cut of the advertising revenue when people search via the toolbar. Skype's highlights all phone numbers on a page so that when you click them Skype opens in the hope that you will purchase minutes or a subscription to complete the call.

Never have and never will install a toolbar on my browser. I like the browser window to be as clear as possible with no rubbish on it. That's why I like Chrome so much as it's just simple, like Google.

Well now since google has recently made page speed a ranking factor, I have been worried about how fast my pages load.

Yet I had no way of calculating this, so after reading online, by installing google toolbar and having the PageRank feature on, the toolbar will log, rank and provide statistics to google webmaster tools for page speed performance.

Since my site is relatively new, only over one year old, I cannot solely rely on the small percentage of my site visitors who do have google toolbar installed to receive quality site performance statistics.

Since I personally visit my own pages on a regular basis, I figured I would install google toolbar myself and this way at least be able to see fresh and current page speed statistics from my own sites once page speed performance is updated on google webmaster tools.
