Of course its possible to earn $1000! As far as how, there are limitless ways to make money online. If you want to have a successful business I suggest you do a website about something you have knowledge about, passion about or care about atleast. It will help IMHO become successful when you love your topic. As far as income, there is sell your own product, sell other peoples product (affiliate marketing) advertising (google,yahoo etc) Offer a service.

Never underestimate the power of your own dedication and persistence! :P

A script? What kind of site do you want to run? Every site will need normal "updation" if you want to keep your visitors coming back. Whether it be a entertainment site or a merchandise site. No one is going to keep coming back if it is not updated. You will get new visitors but the key is to keep the new visitors and accrue your unique visitors per day.

Although there are some scripts out there that will pull RSS feeds from other sites and auto update your own site. For example a youtube like script that finds feeds and pulls that info onto the site on a regular basis. Making it so you don't have to add videos manually.

What kind of site do you want?
And keep in mind, using free hosts, many scripts may not work.

Just to say you want to make money, want a script, using a free host (building a business using a free host? what a laugh), don't want to work at it....

You need to have an idea for a site. What interests you? There is no magic formula to build a site that will suddenly make you a lot of money. You can try outlaying some money and buying a site for sale. That's about as instant as you will get. But as you are using free hosting, chances are you don't have a lot of money to start.

What site do you have on your free hosting? Can you build on that?

Often it's not necessary to have your own website per se. For example if you were making money through affiliate marketing, forums can be a quite effective way to drum up interest and get referrals. Same with selling ebooks or scripts (online products) etc - you could also sell these through ebay.

Alternatively, if you have any skills like HTML, PHP, CSS, Template coding etc - you can make money doing jobs for others. As has already been said above, you need to know what specific skills you can offer and how you want to market yourself. You also need some idea of time-frame. IMO you could easily make $1,000 in a month or two doing scripting work or installing scripts for newbie webmasters in your spare time.

Perhaps if you give us some indication of the skills and interests you have, we can perhaps suggest something appropriate for you.

Plus it is harder today to sell something as an affiliate if you have no website.
People are just too inured to affiliate links (most forums do not allow them) and affiliate ads in forums, etc.

OK, that’s what I get for skim reading! So basically you want a site that automatically updates from feeds? Like some kind of niche news site. You could also use Youtube API to feed the favourate videos onto your site – then earn of AdSense/YPN. Alternatively you could set up a niche blog and pay someone to handle the updates for you. Frankly, I’m kick ass ! Seriously though, maybe this would be an option? There are zillions of “writers” (I use the term loosely) on places like digitalpoint that can take on this kind of work at very low rates.
How much are you willing to invest to get the site set up. What about the ‘niche in a box’. This looks like a really good option.

Is it possible to make a thousand dollars online. Yes, it depends on how/what way you want to go with it. You want to offer a specialty? A product? an idea? Affiliating other products?

This is the way that I would suggest going. Take it as you wish.

Offer a service that you are GOOD at.

Raise enough money from the services you provided.

Go and find what you are really passionate about or what you see to be profitable.

Start building the idea, realize that mistakes will be made, trial and tribulation.

Network with others in the similiar niche. Develop friendships. One thing I have leard, it's easier to make money with business friends than it is with friends.

You should by this time, start seeing a ROI. Then you will see your 1000.00 time and time again.

If you want to setup a website for free, on free hosting and put zero effort into it, you aren't going to make any money.
Furthermore, if you are asking us to help you do it, then you are barking up the wrong tree here.

First, we all know it's not possible to put up a crappy website that we don't care about and won't put any effort into and try to make money with it. It's just not going to happen.
Second, we all work very hard to earn the money that we make. This is not a business for the lazy. It requires a lot of hours in setting up and maintaining a website that has any value and then you have to promote it.

If you aren't willing to devote some time and effort to this project of yours, then it's a waste of time.


If you still want to attempt this, then I would suggest you start small with a topic you are very interested in. That way, you are more likely to put some effort into it. And, free hosting will only take you so far. Eventually, you will discover the need to get rid of it.


In answer to your specific question, yes. It's absolutely possible to make $1000 online. Many of the people here have done it and make much more than that.

You have to be prepared to put time and effort into the website if you want it to be successful.
Do you have time to work on the website and still pay attention to your studies?
If you have time for both, then I suggest you start small with a free host and when you start to make at least $10 per month, move to paid hosting. You can easily find webhosting for less than $5 per month.

What about trying those BANS (build a niche store), I'm afraid a little investment and a little work would be needed though.

If you are starting out and want to earn some money quickly, it may be better to provide a service for other webmasters. For example, there is a lot of demand for custom written articles which pays from $5 to $20 per article.

unfortunately in order to make money, you need to have money. I would just get yourself out there and stop wishing a magical solution to end your money issue.

Very true jim. Also, zxpro – don’t encourage them! There’s enough competition out there in the online writing market. It’s hard enough for decent writers without every dog and his man thinking they can knock out some content – it does require some degree of skill. The sheer volume of new ‘writers’ online forces prices down for established writers to allow them to compete in the cut-throat market.

Why try to dissuade someone from entering the writers' market?
They could probably do as good a job writing, maybe even better, once they get out there.

Script does not attract people - content does...

You can easily start with free Blogger account on google - free hosting and free software...

There are tons of sites with information how to customize Blogger and some nice free templates.

Choose niche that you know good and love to talk about...

As any other website you still need to promote your blog because without traffic there is no money.

If you can build interesting content and make your blog popular - you will have many options how to monetize it.

I've earned $1000 several times.. sold adsense enabled websites (back before there was so much competition) and made over $4000 in 2 months!

I think the key in marketing is: be unique & be first!

varunjith1990: it really sounds like you don't know what you want to do online yet.

Like a lot of people have said on this thread, you have to find something that drives you, that catches your attention.

for example, if you enjoy sports and you know a lot about American football. Say you know a lot about the eagles team or the chargers (a fan of both).

Open up your own blog, start writing about every event that happens, and make it unique, and give it your own say, criticize a little, and keep going, the search engines will pick you up and traffic will start coming in. then you can start driving traffic different ways (word of mouth). Once its established, you can start the money making process.

As many said in the thread before me. There are many money making ways. Make money providing webmaster services, or services specializing in a niche that your good at.

Earn through adsense, earn through monthly subscriptions providing a service (hosting).
You can't just say, I want a site with a free host. And then decide to get a paid host for your site. ??? You need capital to get any serious money. I'm sure you can come up with a little stat up money.

Also, remove a link from the sig, you can only have 3, not sure how you got 4, I put measures in place to prevent that, but good to know it doesn't work.

I once make $400 a month early 2005 and the site was sold because I have no time to spend at that time..Now that I got promoted in my real life, got myself a good deal of break. Now I've been busy into building my websites again.

I am also started earning online. Hope I reach $1000 mark soon.

$1000 is very possible. It depends in what time frame you want to do it in - but it definitely is possible. There is a huge range of ways of making money online - blogging being one.
