Still using link exchange?

Hi,

Just wondering if site owners are still using Link Exchange for site popularity?
Actually, I just updated my site and found that we have a link exchange section on it with more than 200 link partners. I am not sure how many still pointing our site or are active. Should I put my time in checking link partners and further continue with the section?

I do very limited link exchanges now days. On some of my older sites I try to clear out dead links and websites that are no longer reciprocating as often as possible since these kinds of links will drag you down in the rankings.

I've been focusing on one-way links lately. I find them more valuable in terms of SEO

i am also focusing on one way linking.. I do link exchange, i think once or twice a week..
IMO, you have to check those links for you to be able to know which links are still working or not.. and also for you to check if you are linking to a bad neighbor...

yes i still use link exchange...but see to it that your link partners are relevant to your site...

same here i still prefer one way link..

I think, I should first check all the links and if they still pointing to us, I let them active otherwise remove them.

All the link partners will not harm your website. The page contains only links are not good and these type of pages are of link farms. Link exchange with a web site having good PR and the link page contains only few links having some contents will be considerable for link exchange.

It's been at least a couple of months since I have done one. I sometimes will still do it on my Dance Forums with vendors.

I do reciprocal link exchange, I do only with 10 websites and the websites which become dead have their link removed.

Also do link exchange with only relative niche blogs, have more incoming links rather than having outgoing links, I heard that Google will ban you if you have many many outgoing links
