Thread: Bad Neighbourhood or Not? Please Help

Hi everyone, I recently hit PR3 and started up some private advertising for my site at pokerisrigged.com. We got an offer of $77 for a year long sitewide link and we accepted it. However... this offer was from a site called sexhealthshop.com.

It's not smutty, it's not porn and it's not necessarily "bad". It does have producs such as viagra but also sells growth supplements and oils such as omega 3.

Will this get my poker site punished by Google?

Your 'poker' site could very well be more of a 'bad neighborhood.

The site you are asking about however throws several red flags in my eyes, #1 it's spammy, affiliate marketing it appears. #2 It's claiming via it's names to be Viagra alternatives, the company that makes Viagra does not look keenly on this and goes after companies all the time, 'something google knows all about' among others.

I've just sold him a year long link. Is it worth looking at cancelling it? What can Google actually do to me?

I checked out where he gets his links from. It doesn't look spammy, all are just directories.

Ask yourself if the $77 is worth it.
Even if Google doesn't punish you for it. Will you be worrying about it for the year?

The site itself is spammy as it's linking to nothing more than affiliate sites.

You could always go down the monthly payment option route in future instead of commiting to a whole year.
