We all know that a perfect link would be from a site with high PR, Right? That's the all to simple answer. So let's now look at a what a perfect link might look like.

It should first offer some benefit to the person that might actually be clicking on that link. So in needs to be industry specific or related.

It should also include your targeted keyword phrase in the anchor that is related to the very site that it is pointed too.

That link should be "Do Follow" thus it will pass link juice.
It certainly would be nice if that link came from a high PR page.

PS: It would also be nice if it was on a highly trafficked site that generates traffic to your site.

Our perfect link is on industry specific directories especially if they are site wide

What’s wrong with site wide links on a directory that is targeted to your niche? You get the inbound link and the odd click.

Site wide links dont sound that bad actually. Just like what sharpwebhosting said it still gives the incoming link and you get the odd click from the traffic generated to that website..

If somebody could tell me how site wide links could hurt you I would love to hear it.

3. Link on good PR page
4. Traffic on the page
5. Site in the same niche.

Imagine you got site wide links and let's say you end up with thousands of links in a short amount of time and they all carried the same anchor text? Would that look natural to the search engines?

No of course it would not and what happens to websites that generate un-natural link building patterns?

And then do a Google search for "site wide links." You might find that your opinion needs adjusted.

This works for me. It really is that simple. Getting links on high PR pages however is do easy.

A perfect link is a link placed in a very visible location on a page that receives tons of traffic that would be interested in your product or service or website.

While that's not a bad idea it would be way cool if that link where a Do Follow one d on a high PR page.

I think page must be cached where you place the link......
And have pr and same industry also..........

Pr is not very important today. Relevant links from trusted sources work good.

I find this list to be more accurate. Although I am no longer concerned with PR value that much. PR value to me is overrated and link sellers put too much stock in it. PR Value is easy to attain with just a couple of links from a PR valued page. It does not mean you are getting a link that will yield any traffic. I don't put a lot of stock in Alexa Rankings either, but I do consider that of more value than a pages PR value.

Thanks for the input on this topic. It appears that we all seem to be on the same page on this one. That doesn't happen often.

Yes, the perfect link is more of a dream than something that can be easily accomplished... But it's nice to dream!

I could care less about all of the points listed so far on the "Perfect Link"

I am a simple guy, the perfect link to me would be one that is listed on a site in my exact or related niche, and also would prefer a direct link to any of my internal pages over links to my home page!

I also like links that can query my on site search page and provide site visitors all of my content pages that match their specific search query in list on page!

Sadly still looking for these kinds of links, however I created my own internal links that query my search feature on site. But I would love one that does the same on another site...

This is not a dream is fantasy land :devlish:

One link from an authority site is far more effective than thousands of link spams, authority for your websites should have these following categories, they should be trusted by search engines, got higher PR, Relevant to your niche. Also I think that it is more effective if your anchor text link is placed in the body of the article itself.

The perfect link is the one that leads someone to your website and they become a big ole juicy high paying client that pays on time every time..

I have generally observed that PR value is overrated and link sellers put too much stock in it. You can easily get the value with just a couple of links.
