Thread: multiple links to the same site in your signature

A lot of us do it: put links to several pages of the same webstite in our signature.

does anyone know if search engines somehow deduct link credit to adjacent links to the same site? In other words, if you have 10 links to your site all in a row, could it be possible that each one is worth only 1/10 of what a solitary link would be worth?

(I know that each successive backlink from the same site is worth less and less. this is a different question about the proximity of those links to one another.)

I'd assume they do make each link count a bit less if they point to the same domain. But as long as it seems to work for gaining some positions in the SEs I don't have any problems in doing it.

Yh its correct will deduct the value if use multiple link site. But its not so bad and also multiple links on signature is working fine tooo

Means if we will use three or four sites with our signature then all links have same value.

Or three or four links can effect as first has 50% value and others have less than first respectively.

I think there can be some effect, i dont know more but can say according to our experience.

If mulitple links from the domain counted for more than singular links then how good would all our websites because we put thousands of links in signatures on forums!

I am surprised that WTF does not use the no follow tag. I guess it is their way to returning something to the poster.

I read a SEO article that talks about having links on a pages with a lot of other links. The link juice that is pass from that page goes down as the number of link increases. the article did not talk about have a bunch of links to the same page. I think that is rather spammy and you might end up in the Google dog house.

I read a few articles that say it doesn't matter if you get 1 link or 10 links from the same domain...

Well in my opinion Google will consider only one link and not all the links in the signature. The point of putting links to different pages of the same site from a forum is to get human visitors. The SEO benefit only recognizes it as one link.
