Thread: Why are my link building efforts not visible?

Two weeks ago, I concentrated on one of my blogs and applied vigorous link building, article directories, social bookmarks, comments on other blogs.. Yet, when I checked on the backlinks, there are no positive significant changes despite my efforts. Why are the supposed backlinks that I worked hard for not reflected?

May I know what tools you used to check the backlinks? It may take quite sometime to update, you can check on 3rd week.

Some backlink tools are not accurate and backlinks take time to be indexed. Be patient, it should show over time.

2 weeks is not that enough I guess to get your backlinks updated in Google. Link building really takes months before you get to see your site showing up a little on Google as well as the backlinks being counted.

Google taking time to update the BL and visible to users... within 2 week m doubted.. for me its took around one month.. so may be in next update can see

A few things to think about:

1) Any increase in traffic due to hits coming from the new backlinks?

2) Are the article directories, social bookmarks, blog comments "dofollow"?

3) Links from article directories have been decling in quality.

I think you need to have some patience as backlinks are not instant thing to show inspite of doing hard work. It will definitely show your links if you are working hard but after some time.

For generating backlink to your site it take longer time period it is not that much easy thing. For that you need to do continues work for that. Than and than you can get result for your work.

I Thinks in Google Back link Update in Months. Be patient and Keep continue your work and try to get new Back links.

It took around 6 weeks for my back linking efforts to start showing in google. It will show in time. Just keep doing what your doing.

Yeah, 2 weeks are not enough to see the results. So, keep posting and backlinking. And don't stop even after you get the results - Google likes stability even in linkbuilding.

It will take time to get indexed. After getting indexed all the links, you will be able to see the end result.

The process takes time. I have never been able to notice a bump from a single link building push, but over time, I have noticed that the more link building you do, the better your site does.

Be patient and wait for them to be indexed.. While waiting, continue with your link building process.. Once you are able to check which were indexed, drop those that were not so that you will not be wasting efforts on them..

Yeah they are right, 2weeks is not enough to see the result of what you've done. Just wait until Google will index it. And while waiting, just keep on submitting quality link.

Your 3rd point is valid only if he is using Google to check his backlinks, otherwise Yahoo Site Explorer and other backlink checking tools show both, the dofollow as well as nofollow backlinks to the user. Even Google doesn't show all the dofollow links. Though it shows all the links in the webmaster tools.

I do agree with you, backlinks takes weeks or even a month to come up so a good way is to check whether you are getting traffic from the backlinks you created, you can check this via google analyzing tool

Did you ping the sites? Honestly, the one thing I hate about SEO is that these things take a large amount of patience. I didn't see results from link wheels until about a week and a half later.

BINGO!

Pinging sites is very important. I literally made 20 linkwheels for my site and we saw small puny rankings.

Then it just HIT. I'm talking about first page google for a few of our secondaries and such. Very nice results so just wait around a bit more and keep working

Taking that you submitted to "dofollow" sites, the reason of not showing the backlinks may be few like, Google only shows the backlinks which are from authority sites, and the tool you used may be not very good. For backlink checking I generally use this.

Link building efforts take time to surface. You have to be sure of yourself. You should be knowing that wherever you are dropping your links, the links remain there. The more you make this sure, the better for you.

The link shown by you gives really bad results. I have many backlinks for my site which is quite old, but your tool shows me 0 backlinks for it! Check for yourself: http://www.coffee-percolators.com is the site I am trying your tool with.

For the most true results, use GWT (Google Webmaster Tools). And it takes one week to six weeks Google count your new backlinks.

Another thing to consider is that google exports a backlink update similiar to a PR export every few months or so.

Are you using Google's link: tool for checking backlinks.It doesn't give accurate results.
You need to use Yahoo site explorer or Google Webmaster Tools for accurate results.

Yes SEO needs a lot patient Is not like some customer think SEO is one time service, only PPC can give more instant effect.
