Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone had an idea as to how long it takes for Google to register a backlink after it has crawled AND cached a webpage on which that backlink appears?
Hey guys,

It depends is the right answer. But it generally takes a day or two to be crawled by Google spiders.

I don't think you guys understood my question. What I meant was this:
I posted an article in an article directory. On the article is a link to my website. The webpage with this article has been cached, crawled and indexed by Google. However, the backlink on the webpage has not been registered yet - as in, when I Google, link:mysite.com - the backlink does not come up. When does it start registering as a backlink.
To clarify, it is NOT a rel='nofollow' link to my site

I think it can take anywhere from a few days to a few months depending on how or when Google updates its stats for your site.
Assume that google recognizes, registers and factors into the rankings a link as soon as it crawls and indexes a page.
As for when it turns up in the response to the link: operator .... assume never ... Google only ever return a small random sample of all the links they know about and use in response to the Google link: operator. What is in this random sample has nothing to do with what Google actually know about and what they use.
You should wait until the next Google update. And for sure you will see some new result in doing that command.
It depend on the quality of the website where the backlink comes from, usually within few days.
3 days 9 hours 10 minutes and 46 seconds.
There is so many factors involved that you will never ever get an answer like the one above.

google takes 2-3 months to consider backlinks and some time it do not consider some links LOL
but still you can see links in google we master tools
Google has a mind of its own when it comes to backlinks, half of the time it doesn't even consider them. Your best bet is to use a third part backlink checker and see what it finds
I think it depends upon your backlink. If your backlink comes from high PR site than you can find it in some hours but if it is comes from low PR site than it takes several days.
In my case it takes 2 days before my backlink is registered.![]()
Depends on from where you get the backlink. If its a place where frequent crawling occurs, like sites like mashable, techcrunch etc, you will get the link no more in a day.
Within 7 days, but as other users have said there are many factors involved.
You can only get the right answer to this question if you had access to google's algorithm.
I know of several pages that has my links on them yet Google refused to count those links and I dont know why it is like that.

Have you tried resetting the device by removing the battery for 30 seconds? If that doesn't work, then try performig a master radio reset....
The annoying (but right) answer is: it varies.
It can be a couple of days, and can be a few weeks or more.
There's no telling, unfortunately.

It all depends on the relevancy of the contents of your site. If you have the best article (properly keyword densed) then your site can be ranked well in minutes. I have seen lots of these kind of sites crawled and indexed in minutes.
You just have to "call" the spiders to your site/blog (pinging). :shy-f:
If the website you posted is a crawler-friendly website, within 24 hours, you can see your backlinks.
There are really lots of factors that can affect the time on when your article link can be cache and counted as a backlink for a certain webpage.
