Thread: How I Increased PageRank From 0-3 In First Update Without having so many backlinks

In start of the january when google updated page rank,my blog got page rank 3. Before it was 0. Even my blog just has almost 1616 backlinks.How i did this, it is a very easy way. I commented on the blogs which were using top commentors plugin. So i become the top commentor of some blogs having high page rank. In this way i got the high quality backlinks. And it very easy way to get thousands of backlinks because if you become the top commentor of the blog having 1000 blog post then by leaving just few comments you can become the top commentor and can have 1000 high quality backlinks because of 1000 posts. So it is very easy way to get high page rank and high quality backlinks easily. I hope it will help you to get high pank rank easily.

Congratulations. Just one thing, was it worth wasting your time for pagerank? Pagerank is just a very small part of Google's algorithm to rank websites, so it would be better to start searching for quality backlinks instead

It's nice to see that you got your much-awaited PR, but does it mean more money for you? Don't rely on PR, focus on get your site to move up on Google SERP rather than chasing PR.

I like backlinks, even from blog comments, but I don't care about PR. SERP ranking is so much more important, as is actually making more money from having more links.

Congratulations on achieving PR3 for your blog. 1616 backlinks is quite a good number i must say. many of my blogs have PR2 with only few hundred backliks and I use directory submission to free directories for backlinks.

I agree on this. I prefer SERP rankings than PR. I saw one website he is only PR 2 but the site is on the top spot. The PR of the sites below are not less than PR4 and not more than PR6.

I think if you are trying to monetize your blog, Page Rank is very important becuase that is what most advertisers are looking for, high page rank

True, that's where many amateur webmasters are looking at. Professional advertisers look to the potential targetted traffic. You should also keep in mind that most links to other sites are nofollowed if they got paid for, otherwise the owner can be in trouble by Google

I suggest to start build backlinks for your site and focus on link building.

It's strange i managed to get PR4 with only 1 link! Now can som1 explain whats going on! as i have PR with 1 backlink it dosent make sense

I don't put any stock in PR any more. As the other posters have stated. You are better focusing on quality backlinks. I too have built a new site to about 1500 backlinks, the difference is I have moved to the first page results on Google, Yahoo, and Bing and have increased the UV from less than 100 to almost 3000. BTW the site is also a PR3. The competitors around it are PR5-6.
