Thread: back links decreased ?

Last month one of our web site having 1000 back links and , now it reduced to 500 or some closer to that. Why is that happening .. What should i do to increase this status.

What were you using to determine the drop? Because in google webmaster tools they are constantly going up and down. Some how or other they only show you some of your back links. In yahoo site explorer it is always up and down from one day to the next, sometimes 1 hour to the next.

If you really do have a drop in say google backlinks, it could be either someone removed your link or links on their site. The site no longer exists. They might have switched from dofollow to nofollow. It's hard to say for sure.

I would agree with gameutopia as your backlinks also depends on the quality as the sites where your link are need to be good enough...

I suggest you to check all submitted link for your site,it may be possible that the site in which you have submitted link is expired or your link was removed from that site. Most of the directories & bookmarking sites are not alive for long time.
