For those who use link wheels - how do you get links to those websites. I mean they usually are lesser quality and it's hard to find good links for them (good directories etc.)

No, more like a places where you can leave your link and don't need to be approved first.
Of course if there are places like that usually they are already flooded with "buy V1a6ra" spam, heh...

Try to find list of blogging site. SEO is a good researcher so everything is possible for SEO to find those blogging site.

If you wanna find tons of blogs you can try "fast blog finder" software, or just type in Google: blog list
You should also submit your every part of link wheel to social bookmarks and social network sites, support them by submitting articles that points only to your link wheel sites and not your main site. That way you can make them a lot stronger.

Link wheels are a way good way of driving traffic and generating leads to your website. When its done properly you should be able to get high quality backlinks. You should know how to optimize your blogs with the right keyword and of course with original content.This is proven internet marketing strategy that works.

Link wheels are a bit old of a concept, greatly relying on social bookmarking which is no longer a powerful tool imo.

Stop chasing crappy links. Work hard and get good links.

I actually dont get what you mean by that, but if your are asking how can you get links from 2.0 web, many of them are blog hosting sites, you can get a link by blog posts.

Well i do link wheeling by connecting different blogs together.. This helps to increase the blog credibility also....
