Thread: Advertising in an e book?

I see advertisements in e-books all the time.

Lets say this e-book was original and would be given out for free to thousands.
~Would you advertise in an e-book?
~How much would you pay for a text link?
~How much would you pay for an image links?

If it was about my niche I might, but as far as prices I have no idea ATM. It would not be on the top end.

There are so many ebooks all around that I don't even bother to downtime even if it is free, so I think advertising there doesn't help at all.

Tried advertising in an ebook, results horrible.

Right now, the latest price I have seen from someone who emailed me a few days ago, was $297 for a banner.
$197 for a text link.

Of course, this would be an ebook sold, not given away.

At one time, a few years back, seems everyone got into the free ebook craze and offered advertising space in these ebooks.

I would guess it depends on what you are advertising and if the ebook is complementary to what you are advertising.
Then how much circulation would the free ebook get.

Most webmasters do not give away ebooks from others unless their ad is included.
So that cuts down on circulation.

Thats a crazy price.

I want to make the e-book i am writing free but if i can get enough advertisers.

I wanted to sell Text links for $10.00, and if i was to sell Photo advertisements i would only sell them for about $20.

Look at this example e-book

The e-book i am writing will have a total of 20 pages or more
I would expect a few thousand downloads in about 3 months. I will try to get it on sites like download.com
Also people are selling e-books like mine for upwords of $30.00. It has some really good ideas in it

Would you put an advertisement in it for $10.00.
Remember that for $10 you would get your link at the bottom of a page and all the way at the bottom with all the other advertisers in a directory type of form. Just look at the e-book. lol

Should i try it?

Give a sample of the ebook.
For 10 bucks, I would try again.
