Promoting a Music Forum

I've acquired a new music forum, and i'd like to know what are some possible ways that I can go about promoting it. If you want to take a look at the forum, link is in my signature.

So let me see what you guys can come up with.

Well there is the obvious PPC campaigns that you could do, and maybe promote your forum in other forums, I always find a great way to get people to a forum to begin with is through signatures in other forums or advertising your forum on other forums.

It's not about a promotion but is that a 250x250 ad on the mid-upper part of your forum? I think it's better to replace it with a horizontal one.

First thing is be active urself ... then expect others to be ... i.e. creating new topics on what ppl search for. Check the competition ..... other similar niche forums ....what kind of topics get most replies .... don't copy them ... create something similar, more interesting, a little controversial.

Ask yourself why would I signup? design , ease of navigation etc etc
Also never ever be dual ... for eg if aff links are not allowed .... then never put them urself also.
