Thread: Did I do bad?

I really do not know what possessed me to do it, but I ordered 1 million traffic hits to one of my websites. Anyone else ever done anything stupid like this before? I'm a little worried about it now Ive done it. It's not a bandwidth issue, its more the scampsters that I'm gonna get coming to my site that worries me. Site is a forum :shuh:

I would never buy a traffic because IMO it shows that you are not confident on your site.

Just build the content and let people come on their own. It will surely take lots of time but it is good.

I don't know the traffic you bought are real visitors or automatic machines (bots)... Do you know about it?

Check your Google Analytics account or check Awstats to see. I doubt you received million visitors.

I don't believe in buying traffic, especially something that sounds totally off the wall.

They are apparently real visitors. I just wanted to get a little boost in visitors but kinda got carried away with it all. I guess the worst that's likely to happen is a lot of spam :sblush:

If it like some of the traffic thingies I have tested on and off over the years, nobody will actually see your site, but you get the "hits". A couple were so confident that I would like it that they gave me a free test for 24 hours. All the "visitors" had the same IP :S

I bet everyone has done it at some point, I once purchased some gambling traffic but when i checked my stats all the visits were from hip hop and gangsta rap related sites which obviously were completely unrelated. Complete waste of pennies but you live and learn.

You did not major wrong just wasted your money. Traffic selling is up there with one of the biggest scams. You can get better traffic by joining all kinds of social sites like Stumble Upon and others. Neither will do much more than increase your stats.

Most traffic selling sites use redirects and pop ups to send traffic your way if they have real traffic at all.

Count it as a lesson learned and hopefully it did not cost you much.

It's really very bad. A million hits is a terrible for your site!

If you wanted a boost in traffic, I highly suggest using the money for content or services that do stuff like blog comment, forum post and article submission. Buying traffic is really low quality...

i have tried to buy traffic before but it never converted besides that and it uses a lot of bandwidth i don't think you have anything to worry about.

It doesn't really make sense to acquire traffic in this way because you're just buying statistics. You're not buying readers, customers or repeat visitors; what you're buying is a lie. You can then show the world your statistics and feel like a famous webmaster.

If you want legitimate traffic then write good content and promote it; short cuts like this will only empty your pocket.

More than the good it can bring, the web traffic that you buy seems to have more disadvantages. I am not sure of the conversion rates, even if you want to try because of the cheap price involved, you might be risking the reputation of your website leading to unnecessary problems that will block your website’s success. Therefore, it is always good to stick to methods that have been proven safe.

I think it will surely have a negative effect. One thing is the spam issues. I am sure there will be a lot of it. What is the traffic for anyway? I guess the reason why we want to target traffic or acquire a traffic is for us to get a "conversion."

Buying traffic could be the worst thing that you could do for your site. You should've considered the consequences first before you made that decision.

I once bought Traffic 20,000 visitors for $25.00

Later I found It was fake. Only 1 IP ADDRESS was sending the traffic.

I had a counter to see how many seconds the visitor remained on site and All were fake.

Same Browser, Same System, Same IP.

They used a Bot to load my webpage 20,000 tome.

When I get 100 visitors I get 1/2 Subscribers. But after getting 20,000 fake visitors I got "0" Subscribers.

So its better to get 100 real visitors than 20,000 fake visitors.

When I complained He said look your web Stats and Memory. I understood He used a bot to visit my pages after each interval of time.

I lost $25. Now I will never buy such cheap traffic which is fake.

Hopefully you have a CAPTCHA in your site contacts... or you'll drown with spam

You should've used the money to advertise on popular social networking / social media sites such as Facebook and Youtube. After all, those sites attract millions of visitors every day.

You guys should really read the time stamps on threads, these are sorta old lol

You can increase your traffic by putting some more interesting technique like in this forum if you invite one friend than you can earn some casino cash.
Such kind of techniques may help you to increase traffic your site.

Actually we need customers not just traffic.

this is really a big issue,i never do this because im not sure if all of their links are relevant to my site,I am afraid that it might harm my website.

Sounds like you bought PTC Traffic, believe me its crap..

It's a big waste of money. Getting higher ranks the safer way is by using organic link building.

I didn't even know you could buy traffic! Not even 2 and half years ago when this thread was started!! 1 million hits is going to be bots bots bots, or one of the biggest employers in the world!!! I'd stay away from these kind of offers

you need to keep record about ur success strategy, and i think it is a new dimension if u get success.
