-Link sales
-Social bookmarking
-Social Networking websites like myspace

Thats just a few of the many.

I suggest word of mouth.

You could market yourself outside of the internet. Try:

Business Cards
Flyers
Make a T-Shirt for you with your website
Tell your friends

Use Articles to introduce your online business advantage; Creating a Youtube video to market your products; Myspace can be a wonderful place to advertise your online business.

There are thousands of marketing techniques available to you. The real question is not which is the most effective for others, but which works best for you. Start with the obvious candidates (PPC, SEO, Social Marketing, E-mail Marketing) and work from there. Good luck.

viral marketing

It´s also a good thing to offer something to your visitors to come back again (contests, polls)
If you´re selling something, it would be the best to run your own affilate program, let your affilate market for you!

I dont think -Link exchanges is a good idea these days

In short, focus in off page optimization. And it really needs a determination and effort to be successful in this field. Be sure you are following the right procedure. Also, participate well, if you are going to join social networks and forum submission.

Word of mouth really is the best, but the downside is it takes a LONG time to build momentum that way.

Forums, Traffic Exchanges, Classified Ad Sites, Social Bookmarking, Articles, Banner Exchanges, Directory Submissions, RSS Feed, Sponsor Events, Awards, Press Releases

Participate in conferences/webinars as a guest speaker. Have something ready to sell when you get there as well as some free giveaways so you can get people onto your list..

Giveaway Events is another good one. Come up with a product that contains links to your offers. Add it to the event and others will help market it for you. A good follow through to this is to have a OTO page ready for those who visit your links from the giveaway. They can get on your list for a free product, but then once they give you their contact info, stop them with a one time offer at a standard price before you send them to the download. If they reject the OTO, have another option for them at a lower price.

Good price ranges for these OTOs for something like an ebook seem to be:
1st offer: $47, $67 or perhaps $97 (price will be based on the particular product - videos bring more). If they reject, offer them something else for around $27. You can go one more OTO at $9 if you really want to get them to buy something. Once they buy and see the quality, they will buy from you again in the future.

The best might not necessarily be the easiest, for example submitting articles and press releases has a much longer impact, than submitting blog comments, but the latter is easier

For the doing the best marketing you should have to have the best affiliate marketing and the programs for the getting traffic and visitors to the site ,another best way is the promotion of the site and the promotion of the products this can be done by doing the PPC and PPV that are used for the advertisement.
