which one can be more effective ?

Facebook is a lot more effective I think. Twitter is fairly overlooked and that causes major issues if you want to promote something.

Facebook has more advanced features like pages and etc as well which can get the word out quicker. I used to use Twitter but switched to Facebook for adverts when my host suggested it.

It depends on how you gonna handle it. But for me, I find facebook more effective in promotions. But facebook can easily detect a spamming account if you promote your site at all. Better keep on socializing with your friends so that you will not get banned!

i have all these days used twitter and i get good amount traffic and visitors.. but recently i have started using facebook and its quite good.. i have started getting some visitors from it.. will know the use of facebook soon...

I like Twitter much more because this site has a mobile version and is very user-friandly and convenient in use.

but i dont see the big difference between twitter and facebook.

I like face book because facebook is a social utility that contents people with friends and other who work, study and live around them.

For some people Twitter work and for some Facebook we can say exactly which one is good but it depends upon the way you handle .

both of them are effective ways of generating traffic. Compare the two sites, we've been making more profit on facebook.

I only use Twitter to syndicate my content and use Facebook to gain more exposure.

And dont forget the new tool from Google called Buzz. It's new but you have to take adventage of it.

I think Facebook and Twitter are equally useful but in different ways. What set Twitter apart is that it is mobile. There are ways to connect with Facebook through Twitter and that is a great time saver. But micro-blogging has its disadvantages, the 140 character update limitation being one of them.

I haven't tried Buzz...I'll have to check it out......

Facebook and twitter are good source of traffic and it can also give you backlink if you just know how to use it. on facebook you can create a fanpages and start inviting people to join to your fanpages or groups. your pages should always have a good quality content that are helpful to members to make come back again and become a loyal followers.

Both are different platforms and their criteria is different so we can't compare to these. Both are powerful tool to use but required time and patience to get desired results.

I tried Facebook a while ago and didn't get much out of it. But Twitter seems to work for me now. So, I would say Twitter.

It depends on the site and the niche. Some sites are better suited to promotion via twitter and vice versa with facebook.

Facebook is best networking sites at this time. More than 158 million users, not a search engine but if you know how to drag traffic from Facebook it really helps.

I think both are effective in their own way. You just have to learn how to. I am not of FB or Twitter generation. It is difficult to get used to. Arrrr. I have nothing to twit at any given time. But I guess it is extremely important to utilize.

Both are popular networking site ,these are useful for getting backlinks for your website.
