    Default Deceptive Sales practices...

Have you ever done this. You put your product on sale saying "Sale ends March 1st" then on March 1st, change the date to April 1st? I hate this. I just bought a script because it said ends March 1st, and I had a feeling it didn't really end, but didn't want to chance it so I bit the bullet and bought it. Go back to the site for support on it today and of course the date is changed to "sale ends March 31st". I hate it when people do this. To me it takes away from an credibility they have in their business. Stick to your guns and don't go for the high pressure sales like that. Hopefully the script will be worth it, I'm typically the type that thinks alot before buying things, but they pressured me into it, so it worked, but it still annoys me Grrrrrrrrrr. :kaioken:

My personal favourite is "new and improved". (And we all let it slide when we see it)

How could something be, both, new AND improved?

Ahhh the never ending sale. A bar I worked for a while had a never ending beer sale, $3 for draft beer. You'd be amazed at how long it works and people rarely catch it, even the regulars.

I'm with you Kim.. It takes away from the credibility but it's a common sales tactic. GoDaddy is good for this, they run so many sales that domains are never at their "regular price" just renaming the sale is the same deception.

On a related subject, I know a DJ who makes boat load of cash selling his entire music collection because he's going out of business... What they don't know is he's going out of business everday.. He hasn't DJ'ed in years, I suppose he makes more money selling the music.

Websites that use a script to say "Updated on <today's date>" bug the crap out of me too.. The content hasn't changed all that updated was the date.

    Edit:

Didn't mean to go off on a rant like that but hey I typed it.
