Thread: Your assistance please..

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for promoting inBlogs.org. It's an ad-free blog aggregator and doesn't exactly fit into directory or blog-type marketing techniques that I can think of. Or maybe there's a way and I'm just not thinking of it.

Anyway, any assistance would be helpful.

Are you looking at getting more blogs in your aggregator or are you looking at getting more traffic or both obviously?

Okay for the aggregation part,

1. there is nothing stopping your from manually adding blogs you deem are suitable. Very much the same strategy directory owners use when they first launch a directory.

2. think about going to some of the "other" forums and either make a solicitation very much like the one you did here or get one of the senior members at those forums to make it on your behalf (most members here are also members on these "other" boards.)

Now for the traffic part,

1. Do what you would normally do to generate traffic for a typical site or directory.

2. Identify 25 high profile / traffic blogs related to your niche/theme. Aggregate them to your site. Make an effort to comment on every post they publish from aggregation date on.

3. Bloggers are clicky, so after a while (say 2 months) append more high profile / traffic blogs by looking at your current 25's blogrolls. Make an effort to comment on these new blogs as above.

4. Rinse and Repeat

5. Look into social bookmarking eg: digg, stumble etc
