Default Need advice: How to find affiliates

Hi guys, would you help me? Recently my company launched an affiliate program (we produce and sell web templates). My boss put tasks to every member of our marketing department to find as many affiliates as possible - some kind of competition that will influence in our earnings. It would not be so bad, if I knew where to start. Please, help. Any ideas, possible ways, methods, experience would be great.
    Thanks in advance!

Use who you know to help get the word out there. Look into getting into mass affiliate listing programs like Clixgalore,Clickbank etec... even if only for the exposure. Put a catching forum sig in your username to grab attention that way too. If you're hanging out on webmaster forums you may get a good response to webmasters who may want to promote your templates site and make a little money too. Just a couple of ideas. Good luck with it!

It is not the overall no. of affiliates that is important but the no. of productive affiliates, especially those known as super-affiliates. Quite often, you have to find them rather than they finding you. One possibility is to compile a list of sites that are highly ranked for your keywords in search engines and then e-mail the webmasters individually, perhaps offering them more favourable terms. Another source of superaffiliates would be well known shopping and coupon sites. There are also super-affiliates who rely mainly on PPC and are well-known to the affiliate community.

Therefore. findin super-affiliates do take a lot of experience. There are companies and third party affiliate managers who are willing to do this for you for a price. You may wish to look into these services instead of doing it yourself if your company is willing to pay. One place to hang out would be abestweb.com

Better if you promote your site in search engines, more and more users will be interested if they liked your site

Your best bet would be as Kaos suggested is to join affiliate networks like Commission Junction, LinkShare etc... Thousands of webmasters are signing up there daily. You will have an option to choose who to accept into your program.

After you establish a name for yourself than you can switch to in-house program and affiliates will follow.
Starting and building own program from the ground up especially in the high competitive industry may take years...
