You have got plenty of alternatives out there. Sadly, unless you have serious amounts of traffic none of them will be as effective as Adsense.

There are lots of adsense alternatives to work with.I would prefer linkworth,textlinkads and bidvertiser as the best adsense alternatives.

I think you can earn money from advertising, affiliate programs, selling products, google adsense and more.

Bidvertiser is one of the best alternative I had for adsense. had tried many before but lots of them had closed shop.

You can try Chitika and AdBrite. Infolinks is another way of monetizing your website through targeted keyword links. The latter is best used with Adsense, but you can also use it without Adsense.

there are a lot of different ways, such as CPC/PPC similar like adsense but if you have high amount of traffic than adsense is best, due to any reason you cannot use adsesne than you have a lot many others, but only problem is you may not make more than 2-5c for each click in most of them, even most of the the time its worse like 1c

Than there are affiliate program, which are called CPA where you earn if you get a lead or sale done, if your traffic converts well than you may want to try some of them

CPM banner which pays for each 1000 unique views, very difficult to earn money in them unless you have thousands of visitors, because for each 1000 you hardly earn few cents

CPV mostly known as pop up or pop under might be a good choice but again some webmaster don't like an additional popup window in their site, when visitor comes

So it all depends what you looking for and what is your goal
