How to generate money from my website?

I run a website that offers a free service where you can send and receive text messages via the internet to/from almost every single provider in North America. We have aprox 700-800 unique visitors each month with about 500,000 hits per month. The users send on average about 115 texts each day.

I am wondering, how can I generate money to keep this service free for the users?

I have tried using Adsense but very minimal results.

I have thought about the following:

Adding a standard banner to the top and/or bottom of each page.
Adding another banner on pages with blank space which seem to appear more empty.
Adding an advertisers URL to the end of a short text message that is sent from a user.

Now obviously, to do this I would need advertisers. Where might I find people willing to advertise? I really need help with this guys.

You should add FB like button and Twitter button for start, i would use a pop-in, set on page load.

i would suggest adbrite ,but you need to get more traffic!
you need post in content related blogs,forums and free classifieds online ads!

You can use adwords initially and side by side you do quality and relevant linking for your site.

I really recommend you use CPALead for your website. It's basically a content blocker. Maybe you can implement it for some premium service or just using the basic functions of the website?

If you've got dedicated visitors, the money will come.

Well run PPC campagn for your website and also make a fan page on facebook and promote it as much as you can!

CPA widget will decrease the traffic, that's IMHO the worst move in this moment.

There are number of options you can use.First you can join some affiliate program and make money with it.However you also may work with buysellads and they will sell ad from your site and you will get a commission for that.You dont have to nothing here except sign up with them.

What they should be working on is how to get traffic, only then can they monetize their site. They need traffic badly.

Absolutely try in my opinion. I would almost leave the site immediately because of an annoying content blocker.

To cure the low traffic issue, maybe while you improve your site's ranking, you can try buying real, legitimate traffic?

You can generate money by placing ads and Making other products to sell from your website ,dropshipping,providing back links to other websites etc these are some of the way to earn online

Well you could always add a viewable donation button to your visitors, this way you could always inform them as to where the funds would go like for hosting, domain and other overhead that needs to be shouldered by your website. Try explaining to the visitors that you need to raise funds so that you could maintain your text service for free.

effective monetization methods
