Thread: Ranking Factors in MSN

Please suggest me some points important when optimize a website for MSN. The ranking of my website is poor in MSN.

1. Anchor text is a big factor.
2. Many lower authority links that were not passing weight previously,are passing weight now.
3. Fresh links are heavily trusted by MSN.
4. Anchor text of internal linking is also a major factor.

I agree with Misa21,

Most of the search engines have same optimization criteria and you need not work separately for each search engine.

You should also take into account the conversion from MSN vs Google. Only think of optimization for MSN if your visitors convert well.

In all honesty I've had luck by simply making sure I submit my site and feed. Other than that the rest is taken care of, even if I was already previously indexed by MSN.

Keep posting new contents frequently and wait for some months.

Ranking factors for MSN are the same for the other search engines, but even less so, i.e. less backlinks to get to the first page than say Google
