Are appearing to be better than usual on MSN. I have been running some test searches lately and they appear alot more relevant than they have in the past. I'm still by far liking google for other reasons, however with better results being offered up perhaps MSN can get a little more of the market share.

Anything that makes it look like google might have some competition excites me!

I just noticed a 'Related Searches' above the PPC ads on some of my keywords at MSN.

How long has this been happening?

I started seeing that option since last month or may be i noticed it then. I never used that feature earlier but using it today, i find results are very much specific.

May be they are adding new features!

May be competition has finally gripped up with MSN as well!

Many webmasters seems to pay little attention to MSN, or so it would seem when you look around at forums like this one. That's a mistake, I think.
MSN is the default search engine on a default install of Windows and Internet Explorer and we all know that a huge percentage of the population is too lazy to change it on their computer.

It's good to see their results getting better.

Great point. Not even lazy, they may simply not know how!

I think both is true. partial ignorance and partial lazyiness.
Most seemed to think that yahoo was going to be Google's main competition. I disagree. Yahoo is as power hungry as Google is. They're looking at "expanding" and grabbing up pieces of every market... just like google.

MSN is doing a great job of keeping it's focus narrowed on few avenues, the main one, seemingly, being SE results. We'll see how that goes.

That said, I do believe that MSN is worth paying attention to.

I like to pay attention to all the main search engines, what I deem as main, MSN, Yahoo, and Google.

I never thought I'd want MS to dominate anywhere. I hope with Vista that they take over the search engine market.

Google's become an internet dictator. They're telling webmasters how to run their sites just look at their "webmasters help" section tells us how to make the pages easier for their spiders to crawl. Telling us that we cannot create special pages for search engines why shouldn't we be able to get a leg up on our competition?

Is it all for the betterment of the web or so Google can monetize our content? Some people bow to Matt Cutts like he walks on water. Wtf?

At any rate; I've been using MSN & Yahoo a lot more lately both seem to be making strides in their search results.

I feel they take advantage of their position, they know they dominate, forcing us to have to abide by their rules or lose our place in the engine, and yeah, to me bowing down to ANYONE in life, is rediculous.

My Favorite T-shirt says "I'm not that smart... but I can rank well in MSN"

that all changed after the Live update... now it's a bit harder to get overnight top SERP listings... (and when you can do that... it's really hard to have respect for a search engine... it's like a girl that's Too easy ) :P

I agree Neo, unless it's deserved rankings then I think the search engine is doing a good job

Well they fixed their bug... (basically moved to an algorithm similar to Google's) the main thing they changed (that effected the loop-hole) was discounting FFA's

If you had / have *All in one submission - all you had to do was spider your site... pump up the keywords, and submit to 20million FFA's and Overnight you were in the top of the SERP's (even for hard to obtain key phrases) Kinda sad that it's over... it was always nice to show clients... first page results so fast

I like MSN because they are indexing my web sites much faster as G.
I create a new web site - 2 days after that it's listed and few more day after the release it shows some links already pointing to it! In G. I need months for that!
