Thread: From Blogger to Self-hosted WP

Hi. I'm just wondering, will your pagerank be affected if you will transfer betwen blogging platform? From a subdomain to a TLD domain?

It probably will for a while, but should pick up again in time

Definitely change, but if you do it right, it won't affect you much.
That is why start blogging with your own domain so that PR will stay on the domain.

Try to point the old blogger to your self hosted WP, this will reduce the effects of the loss considerably.

Be sure to do a 301 permanent redirect to pass your pagerank to the new domain.

it'll affect your current status for some time but will go back sooner or later

My experience with moving sites, even with redirects, has been disastrous. I'm sure that's not the case with everyone though.
