Default Pagerank Prediction, is it accurate?

Have you found Pagerank Predictions to be accurate? If so, where?
They have no access to the Google Algorithm, so how are they predicting these accurately?

I'm using iWebTool to predict my sites, so I compared it to WebTalkForums predicted PR.
    Results:
PoliticsOnFire Predicted PR: 6 (from 3!!)
WebTalkForums Predicted PR: NULL (not enough Backlinks!!)

So, through this, I don't find it very accurate at all, my site is much newer with less content than WebTalkForums.

    Here's the tool: http://www.iwebtool.com/pagerank_prediction

I noticed for us it says that "not enough Backlinks" as well, pretty useless thing that is.

Like the previous thread and discussion about such things, it still holds true.
    Page rank predictors are useless.

Not true! They have a very important use. They create lots of content on webmaster forums as people ask over and over if they are any good. Or they add extra lines in their link sale or site sale posts to state their predicted PR.

    Very important stuff indeed.

    Have to agree with you.
    This thread is an example...

I get a laugh out of people selling a new site just put up and say, oh it is predicted to have pr6 at next update.
Or the sellers that say their new site they just put up has a pr6 and when someone questions them on this or points out that it is only pr0, they then say, well this site said it will be a pr6.

What makes it even funnier, is those who also quote the "what's your site worth" type tools as a realistic quote of what their site is worth.

"Hey, so-and-so tool says my site is worth $50,543, but I am willing to sell much lower, $100!! Good deal for you, pze reply me!" :slaugh::slaugh:

Ebay is overrun with sellers of websites and domains that use those tools.
Domain appraised at $89,372.29, but you could get this for 99 cents if you bid now.

    Cool

The Page Rank Of A Website depends solely on your inboud links. The PageRank of a website is calculated with the help of the following equation:

PR(A)=(1-d)+(PR OF LINK PAGE 1*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE1)+ (PR OF LINK PAGE 2*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE2)+.....+(PR OF LINK PAGE P*D/NO OF LINKS IN PAGE P).

    Where A,is your website
    D is a damping factor =0.85
link page 1,2...,P are the pages that has a link pointing to your website and can be found out by clicking the arrow that is just besides your PR bar.Once you click it it gives you three options.a)Cache snapshot b)Related pages c)Backlinks.

You could use the SEO calculator to check your PageRank. It is a free online tool.

    Wrong........
It depends on more factors than inbound links.

And only google knows how their algo works from day to day.

Ummm, we're only talking about PR here. Not the entire google ranking algo.

But he is still wrong. It also takes into account out-going links and how much of your PR you are bleeding off to other pages (yours and others).

perhaps you had some links to "Bad neighborhoods" and got penalized.

Link prediction tools use backlink counts to approximate where a site should be with their PR, at that point in time.

I have had a number of PR6 sites with no backlinks showing up a Google, and a PR7 site with a few backlinks.

I tried it several times over the last years and I can confirm that it is not accurate. And I assume that it is not possible, since Google does not show all IBLs with the link operator.
