Google PR - did the last PR update happen?

I'm STILL seeing movement on both my main sites with a PR change from the last update.

Site 1) moved from PR5 to PR6, but somedays you'll see PR5 some, PR6
Site 2) moved from PR4 to PR5, but somedays you'll see PR4 some, PR5

Anyone else seeing this movement?

Maybe it's a known problem but I have taken my eyes off the SEO changes.

That's odd to say the least. I don't know what's happening on my end, I have been w/o google toolbar as it does not like my notebook. Giving it a try again, will try to see if I see it happening on any of my sites.

Usually updates settle in by now..

i aint seen any update with my pr as i think i missed the last pr update last time when i got my new domains

Grim its very odd.

Never seen it like this before - usually it fluctuates during the update, but not a month after! It's not just on my machine neither, happens on any machine I'm on for both sites.

It isn't just you, Darren.

I went from a PR2 to a PR5 during the last update on one of my domains.
Saw a PR2 for a few hours on that domain yesterday. It's back to PR5 today.

Where exactly are you guys and gals checking PR? Could that be deterimental?

Some scripts may not be serving true information, so if you have been following PR from there, it is understandeable. I have not seen any such fluctuation on my sites though.

It's safe to say most experienced webmasters do use several resources, no sense relying on one, unless it's an authority site I suppose.

This is happening to me too, When you look at any data center tool, it shows you that few datacenters have a different PR value, while some datacenters including toolbarquery.google.com have different. this difference of PR value causing this movement.

I don't even pay attention to PR til I see threads like these.

It's only good for selling links from my experience.

When PR goes up, it's a nice "feelgood" moment!
It's kind of like a confirmation that you're at least heading in the right direction with your efforts.

To me, the public decides if I am worthy, not some search engine, many like and use my free themes, so my hardwork pays off and asclowns give me PR candy to make others think I am superior. :twisted:

Darn just a bit late. Or just in time, I am working on 3 projects right now since my 1st one got launched today. So in 3 months or so I'd have a PR on all of them, in the meantime I'll get those million visitors first :P

I just want to get a pagerank, I had one on my other site, which the domain expired a few weeks ago (PR4).

then go get alot of links pointing at your site and in 3 months you'll have a nice pr

If you guys are talking about right now, I don't think the latest update has happened yet. I'm not seeing changes on any of my sites.

However, when we see a toolbar update, typically, the cut off point happened about a month prior to us seeing the change. So, we may or may not be past the cut off point on this one. :scheesy:

Well I don't know about no update but check this weard thing out:

I registered a domain name a few days ago, did nothing with it, now starting to put a blog on it and BAMN it's PR4?? I checked google AND msn for sites that link to me, but could not find even 1! What's going on?

It could be that the domain was previously registered and had PR from that time.

It's not uncommon for Google to give PR to a domain that has no backlinks reported in Google.
Check for backlinks in Yahoo and MSN.

I had a very similar thing happen to me recently.
I just started work on bestworldblogs.com and no backlinks anywhere, but it has a PR3 from Google already.

I had a domain with no links come up as a pr5 first update, still do this day do not know why. I've had domains I redirected to a domain take over the pr temporarily, this however was not the case. That pr though was short lived, next update it was nocked down to a bit fat 0

Don't you just love that? Yet I got in a little 'fight' on DP with a few who thinks back links and backlinks alone determine PR. Yes it is the majority of it, but to leave it as something so cut and dry as backlinks, no other 'weighing' factor is a bit naive.

I don't know what they're doing, I can't tell for sure if my site is PR5 or PR6, http://blog-themes.kalinawebdesigns.com/

Toolbar says PR6 but the linkpr site shows many 5's still, I don't know if it's reverting.

I do know one thing, it sucks being given something only to have it taken away.

need to improve link popularity...it is nice to hear things like this getting a move with there PR but it is also gave some sad feeling like asking "why??were not moving" but still it gives us some challenge that to continue what were doing and add other things that will help our site after all SEO is a continuous process...
