Thread: Finally got PR1 on my website

My site is 142 days old. I finally hit PR1.
I was starting to wonder if I was being overlooked or something.
As far as PR goes do you slowly climb up the ladder? Or do they start you off at whatever rank they think you should be at??

As far as PR is concerned, once a page is indexed, it is automatically assigned PR. Just be patient with it and you'd get higher PR in the future - so long as you build more and more dofollow backlinks to your site via directories, forums, blogs, SB sites, etc.

Improve also on your content as this is a good way to increase organic linking. This type of link scores high in Google's algo

Congratulations. My blog jumped from a PR2 to a 3. But it was a blogger blog, so I had to switch to WordPress.

You must have fell right under the window of the last update. It is nice to see some PR but it does not mean much unless you are selling links. If that is the case, spend an hour a day for a couple of weeks submitting to directories and such and you will see PR3 or higher by the next update.

The initial pagerank (and subsequent updates) mostly depends on how many backlinks your site has. I managed a PR5 within 90 days for a new site (it's first PR update). It was all due to 10,000+ backlinks which I obtained for the site through various methods.

Nice going on the PR5.
However, be careful that next time Google Gods do not readjust on the next update or sooner. The first update of 2008 ended up being adjusted a month later.

It has already made it through 2 PR updates and still retained PR5. Anyways my post wasn't to glorify my PR5, it was to explain to the OP that you can ramp up your PR dramatically by obtaining backlinks. No need to wait for multiple months & PR updates.

I also just saw a few days ago my proxy, ipdisguise.net , has a PR of 1...

Congratulations but I'd be much more concerned about how well you rank for certain keywords than how big that little green bar is. I've seen some strange fluctuations over the years (as I'm sure others have as well). For example, one of my most heavily trafficked pages inexplicably went from a PR4 to a PR0 for about 3 months. But during all the time is was at PR0, the page still ranked exactly the same for all the keywords it was targeting and traffic was not affected. So Page Rank, Schmage Rank... Take it with a grain of salt.

Well done on your newly aquired pr the annoying thing is when you narrowly miss an update and have to wait for the next one still patience is a virtue and all that.

my site get PR1 after approximately 3 month
and still from that day untill know (past 2 month)

as i know the back link and visted and...etc
u want to reach PR2 its double time that u have to reach PR1
and so on

I think getting a Pr of 2 is quite easy.Just build few backlinks from dofollow blogs and forums.My one has just one post still a PR of 2.

Congratulations! To increase your PR value, build more links. Just make sure to create links from relevant and DoFollow sites because Google gives more credit on them.

I dont think that having a high pr would guarantee that you rank higher in search engine, PR is hackable and erroneous so do not focus on PR just focus on building great contents and backlinks

And if you have PR 1 what ? do you have traffic ? rankings ? i bet not so is not worth nothing ... stop wasting time with PR

oh! is that not too long . My site is only 120 days old and got a pr2

i believe you should start at that level and climb a notch slowly just don't try to sell links not relevant to your site i have an experience on this

Congratulations but please don't focus on PR too much because only one of the ranking systems. The most important rank for us, webmasters, is our Google ranking and it is influenced by PR but there are much more factors and they all influence it (quality content, visitors, click-through, etc. )

My highest site was PR3. Keep on building links and creating good content!
